1. Michael Moffitt

track and field
The recent Oak Hill graduate took second place in the high jump at the state finals. He jumped 6 feet, 7 inches. Roncalli senior Will Schott won the event at 6 feet, 8 inches. Moffitt was undefeated in the high jump during the outdoor season until the state finals.
He set the school record by jumping 6 feet, 8 1/4 inches. Also during the regular season, he won the Grant 4, Central Indiana Conference, sectional and regional championships.
Moffitt also won the Midwest Meet of Champions and was second in the New Balance High School Outdoor National Track and Field Meet.
2. Janae Moffitt

track and field
Moffitt medaled in her first trip to the state finals. She tied for seventh with her leap of 5 feet, 4 inches.
Her freshman year also consisted of first-place finishes at the regional, sectional, conference, and Grant 4 meets. Moffitt set the meet and school record by jumping 5 feet, 6 inches at the Grant 4 Meet.
Moffitt won the regional at 5 feet, 5 1/4 inches. She was the only area girl to win a regional championship.
3. Ryan Spaulding
Oak Hill baseball
A Ball State recruit, the Eagle senior led the area with a .495 batting average. He had 48 hits in 97 trips to the plate. He led the area with 11 doubles, six home runs and 39 RBIs.
On the mound, Spaulding had a 2-1 record with a 2.27 earned-run average.
Spaulding was named First Team All-CIC. He was named the District I Player of the Year, First-Team All State for Class 2A, and to the North All-Star team.
4. Tom Roush
Eastbrook track and field
Roush was the only county athlete to qualify for the state finals in two events. He advanced to state in both the discus and shot put. During the regional, he took third in the shot put and sixth in the discus. He received a call-back to state in the discus.
Roush won the shot put and discus at the conference and sectional meet. He won the shot put at the Grant 4 Meet. He set the school record in the shot put with a toss of 54 feet, 5 inches.
5. Josh Neideck
Eastbrook track and field
The Panther sophomore made his second straight state appearance in the 1,600-meter run. He placed second in the regional to qualify for state.
Neideck won the 800, 1600, and 3200 runs during the Grant 4 Meet. He also was part of the Panthers’ first place 3,200 relay team.
He did the same thing at the conference meet. He helped the Panthers 3,200 relay team set a record at the conference meet.
He won the 1,600 and 3,200 runs in the sectional.
6. Alec Samuels
Oak Hill boys’
track and field
Samuels advanced to the state finals in the 400, placing 15th. He beat the school 400 record in each of his last six meets. He is the school record holder in the 400 at 49.3 seconds.
Samuels joined Moffitt on the Indiana Senior All-Star team.
Samuels won three individual events and was part of a championship relay team during the Grant 4 meet. He won the 400 in a meet-record time of 50.12 seconds. He also won the 100 and 200 dashes. He also was part of the Eagles’ first-place 1,600 relay team.
He accomplished that same feat at the conference meet. He set a school record by winning the 400 in 49.8 seconds. He also won the 100 in 11.32 seconds and the 200 in 23.28 seconds. He also was part of the first-place 1,600 relay team.
Samuels won the 400 at the sectional.
7. Thomas Reason
Marion boys’
track and field
The Giant senior advanced to the state finals in the 300-meter hurdles after taking third in the 300-meter hurdles at regionals.
Reason won two individual events and was part of a championship relay team at the sectional. He set the meet record in the 300 hurdles, winning the event in 39.51 seconds. He also was a repeat champion in the long jump, winning with a leap of 21 feet, 10½ inches. He also anchored the 1,600 relay team.
Reason won the long jump at the North Central Conference meet.
8. Zach Seeler
Marion boys’ golf
The Giant freshman advanced to the state finals as an individual. He shot a 1-over par 73 at the regional, good enough to put him in a three-way playoff for medalist honors. Seeler lost on the fourth playoff hole.
Seeler opened the sectional by shooting an 80 at Timber Ridge, Bluffton. That was good enough to place him sixth individually.
9. Sara Lyons/Nithia Chowattukunnel
Marion girls’ tennis
The Marion No. 1 doubles team finished the season 23-2 and advanced to the regional championship for the second straight year. They lost to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger’s Audrey Rang and Elizabeth Maxson in the regional championship.
Lyons and Chowattukunnel finished ranked No. 6 in District 2, which is the largest district in the state in terms of size and number of schools. They also were named first-team All NCC and second-team all state. They were doubles partners two years and compiled a 49-5 record.
10. Lacey Little
Madison-Grant softball
The senior leadoff hitter and center fielder led the Argylls with a .495 batting average. She led Madison-Grant with 49 hits and 39 runs scored.
Little was a perfect 20-for-20 in stolen base attempts. She was named to First Team All-CIC.
11. Cierra Liddick
Madison-Grant softball
The Argylls sophomore finished with a 12-3 record and 1.72 earned-run average on the mound. She had 127 strikeouts in 93 2/3 innings pitched. She allowed 36 runs, with only 23 of those earned.
At the plate, Liddick batted .416 with 32 hits. She had four doubles and two home runs. She had 23 RBIs.
Liddick was named First Team All-CIC.
12. Grant Perkins
Oak Hill boys’
track and field
The Eagle senior was right behind Samuels in all the big meets. Perkins took second in the 100, 200 and 400 dashes at the Grant 4 Meet. He was part of Oak Hill championship 4 x 400-meter relay team.
He also was runner-up in the 100, 200 and 400 dashes at the conference meet. He helped the Eagles win the 1,600 relay.
Perkins qualified for the regional in the 100, 200, and 400 dashes and was part of the Eagles’ regional-qualifying 1,600 relay team.
13. Sasha Glickfield
Marion girls’ tennis
The Giant freshman finished with a 17-6 record at No. 1 singles. She was named to the All-District 2 team and was first-team All-NCC. Glickfield was ranked No. 6 in the district.
Among Glickfield’s wins was a three-set victory over Yorktown’s Katie Vasalaskis. Vasalaskis was named all-state honorable mention her sophomore and junior seasons.
14. Nicole Lawvere
Eastbrook softball
The Panther freshman finished with a 14-5 record and 2.69 earned-run average on the mound. She had 138 strikeouts in 119 2/3 innings pitched.
At the plate, Lawvere batted .553, getting 42 hits in 76 trips to the plate. She had 11 doubles, 10 home runs and was second on the team with 28 RBIs.
Lawvere was named First Team All-CIC.
15. David Anderson
Madison-Grant baseball
Anderson finished his senior season with the Argylls with a 4-5 record. He was the winning pitcher in the Argyll’s 7-5 victory over Tipton in the Class 2A Sectional championship at Eastern. It was Madison-Grant’s first sectional championship since 2002.
Anderson also was 3-for-3 at the plate in the win over the Blue Devils.
Anderson was named First Team All-CIC. He will continue his baseball career at Danville Community College.
16. Shallen Lenhart
Oak Hill girls’
track and field
The Golden Eagle freshman was one spot away from advancing to the state finals. She placed fourth in the 1,600 run at the regional.
Lenhart set a Grant 4 meet record by winning the 1,600 in a time of 5:22.32. She also won the 800 run in a time of 2:26.68.
Lenhart also won the 1,600 and 800 runs at the conference meet. She won the 1,600 run at the sectional.
17. Sophie Seward
Eastbrook girls’
track and field
The Panther sophomore took fifth in the 3,200 at the regional.
She won the 3,200 run and was second in the 1,600 run at the sectional.
Seward set the meet record in the 3,200 run at conference, winning the event in 11:40.02. She also was second in the 1,600 run. She set the Grant 4 record in the 3,200 run, winning the event in 11:55.43. She also was second in the 1,600 run.
18. Lauren Heeter
Eastbrook softball
Heeter tied for the lead in the area with a .553 batting average. She had 42 hits in 76 trips to the plate. She led the area with 38 RBIs. She tied for second in the area with four home runs.
Heeter had 27 runs scored.
She also had a 1.52 ERA on the mound.
Heeter was named honorable mention All-CIC.
19. Olivia Stroup
Madison-Grant softball
The Argyll senior led Madison-Grant with 34 RBIs. She had 34 hits, including nine doubles and a team-high three home runs. She also scored 28 runs.
She batted .337.
Stroup was named First Team All-CIC.
20. Karli Feller
Mississinewa softball
Feller finished with a 9-4 record and 2.49 ERA on the mound. She had 59 strikeouts. Feller pitched all the innings while leading the Indians to the sectional championship game. Mississinewa lost to Norwell 5-4 in eight innings in the championship.
She had a .370 batting average with 20 hits in 54 trips to the plate.
Feller was named First Team All-CIC.
21. Trey Alston
Mississinewa baseball
Alston was named First Team All-CIC.
He was the winning pitcher in the Indians’ 5-4 victory over Oak Hill in the Grant 4 championship game. He started and went 4 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out three batters and walking two. He had a hit and scored a run in Mississinewa’s 5-4 victory over Eastbrook in the opening game of the Grant 4.
22. B.J. White
Oak Hill boys’ golf
White helped lead Oak Hill to a second-place finish at the sectional. He finished second individually with an 80.
White won the Grant 4 Meet with his 18-hole round of 76.
He also tied for second individual and was named all-conference after shooting a 78 at the conference meet. That helped the Golden Eagles win the CIC crown.
23. Teresa Hammes
Madison-Grant
girls’ tennis
The Argyll senior and German exchange student made the switch from doubles to No. 1 singles. She was named to the all-District 2. Hammes was ranked No. 14 in the district.
Hammes also was named to the All-CIC team.
24. Jordan Drook
Marion boys’ golf
Drook led the Giants to the sectional championship by taking medalist honors at the meet. Drook fired a 39 on the front nine and 40 on the back nine to finish with a 79 at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Bellmont.
25. Austin Engle
Madison-Grant boys’ golf
Engle won the CIC Meet with a 76. He placed eighth at the Grant 4 with an 83. He also led the Argylls at the sectional meet. He had a 41 on the front nine and 45 on the back nine to finish with an 86 at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Bluffton.
Honorable Mention
Syndi Mingo, Mississinewa girls’ track and field
The Indian senior advanced to the regional in the 200 dash. She took third in the event at the sectional.
At the conference meet, Mingo won the 100 dash in 13.49 seconds and the 200 dash in 27.03 seconds. She also was part of the school-record setting 400 relay team at the conference meet. The Indians won the event in 53.63 seconds.
Mingo won two individual events at the Grant 4 meet. She won the 100 dash in 12.90 seconds. She won the 200 dash in a meet-record time of 26.72 seconds.
Mingo has the school record in the 100 dash.
Sasha Artis, Marion girls’ track and field
Artis qualified for the regional in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. She won the 100 hurdles in 16.69 seconds at the sectional.
Artis was third in the 100 hurdles, third in the 300 hurdles and third in the high jump at the conference meet.
Artis was second in the 100 hurdles in a school-record time of 16.51 seconds during the Marion Relays.
