Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams Sweep Oak Hill Invite

The Oak Hill boys’ and girls’ cross country teams swept the Oak Hill Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday at Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Eagles won the boys’ meet with 26 points. Jay County was second with 92 points. Peru was third with 119 points. Mississinewa was fourth with 123 points and Madison-Grant was fifth with 147 points.

Oak Hill won the girls’ meet with 26 points. Tipton was second with 62 points. Jay County was third with 87 points. Alexandria was fourth with 91 points and Mississinewa was fifth with 99 points.
Mississinewa freshman Brennan Butche won the boys’ meet in a time of 16:39. Oak Hill runners occupied four of the next six spots. Chandler Julius was second in 17:20, Beau Clouser was third in 17:35, Silas Vermilya was fourth in 18:02 and Colin Harts was seventh in 18:44. JC Herring was 10th in 19:00, Zach Gunter was 11th in 19:15 and Dillon Stewart was 12th in 19:22.
After Butche, Mississinewa’s next top finisher was Jacob Ehmer, who was 27th in 20:45. Corbin Page was 32nd in 21:10.
Madison-Grant’s Mason Miller was 15th in 19:37. Parker Amburgey was 34th in 21:20, Wes Hull was 35th in 21:22 and Grant Wilson was 36th in 21:28.
Oak Hill’s Margo Hornocker won the girls’ race in 20:12. Brooke Hasty was second in 20:30. Savannah Hart was sixth in 22:08. Lorraine Gamble was 10th in 22:56 and Elissa Austin was 11th in 23:23. India Ulshafer was 14th in 23:52 and Alexis Mathias was 16th in 23:55.
Mississinewa’s Amanda Baldwin was fifth in 21:42. Blayne Miller was 33rd in 27:08 and Kierstin Yeakle was 34th in 27:09.
Amanda Armstrong led Madison-Grant, placing 21st in 24:28.
Oak Hill won the boys’ junior high race with 61 points. Tahj Johnson was fourth in 11:32. Macallister Cheek was ninth in 11:56 and Surafel Fry was 13th in 12:15. R.J. Baskett’s Tyler Jakob was third in 11:31.
Oak Hill won the girls’ junior high race with 34 points. Molly Gamble won in 11:38 and Kinzie Robey was second in 12:20. Kate Hornocker was eighth in 13:43. Carli Fones was seventh in 13:40 for R.J. Baskett.
