The Oak Hill boys ran in the elite division featuring six ranked teams – No. 2 Westfield, No. 7 Fort Wayne Carroll, No. 9 Brebeuf, No. 10 Noblesville, No. 23 Fort Wayne Northrop and No. 24 Franklin Central. Westfield won with 67 points. Carroll was second with 78 points. Noblesville was third with 127 points and Brebeuf was fourth with 127 points.
“The boys got out a little quick, but we were kind of running with that nothing to lose mentality,” Oak Hill coach Paige Brunner said.
Chandler Julius led Oak Hill, placing 17th in 16:35. Silas Vermilya was 52nd in 17:13 and Beau Clouser was 74th in 17:36. JC Herring was 93rd in 18:05 and Colin Harts was 102nd in 18:23.
“We need to work on the back end of our pack,” Brunner said. “We need to get Beau up there with Silas if we want to get where we want to be.”
Oak Hill returns to the Indiana Wesleyan course on Tuesday to compete in the Oak Hill Invitational. Mississinewa and Madison-Grant also will be at the meet.
