Chandler Julius Earns C-T Athlete Of The Week Honors

Senior Chandler Julius helped the Oak Hill boys’ cross country team win two invitational championships last week. Senior Kristi Elson helped the Mississinewa volleyball team to a victory over a county rival and an invitational championship.
For those honors, Julius and Elson have been named this week’s Chronicle-Tribune Athletes of the Week.
Julius helped Oak Hill win the Blackford Invitational on Saturday. He also helped the Eagles win the Oak Hill Invitational last Tuesday at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Julius won the Blackford Invitational in a time of 16:56. He was one of three Eagles to finish in the top 20. Silas Vermilya was fifth in 17:28 and Beau Clouser was 17th in 17:55.
Eastbrook and Oak Hill both finished with 92 points. The Eagles beat the Panthers on a sixth-runner tiebreaker.
Julius took second in the Oak Hill Invitational with his time of 17:20. He was one of five runners in the top 10. Clouser was third, Vermilya was fourth, Colin Harts was seventh and JC Herring was 10th.
Oak Hill won the meet with 26 points. Jay County was second with 92 points.
Oak Hill competes again at the Tipton Invite on Saturday.
