Cross Country Teams Win New Haven Invite

The Oak Hill boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both won the small school division A race during the New Haven Invitational on Saturday. The boys repeated as champions, while the girls won their first.

Oak Hill scored 70 points in the boys’ meet. Prairie Heights was second with 103 points.

Bradey Newhouse was fourth in 17:20. Riley Jones was eighth in 17:39. David Horner was 16th in 17:54. Chandler Julius was 19th in 17:58. Ryan Miller was 23rd in 18:02. Beau Clouser was 31st in 18:28. Zach Gunter was 36th in 18:35.

The Oak Hill girls scored 49 points. Southern Wells was second with 79 points.

Shallen Lenhart was second in 19:37. Reagan Brankle was 11th in 21:22. India Ulshafer was 12th in 21:29. Cynthia Kluevein was 29th in 22:43. Krista Hobbs was 30th in 22:58. Kate Label was 41st in 23:21.

“It was a great day for our kids and program to win both races,” Oak Hill coach Paige Brunner said. “It has been a long time since we managed that. It was a long week for us with three races. We had tired leags and wanted to stay down in our division to reward our athletes.”
