Eastbrook senior Josh Neideck won his fourth straight Grant Four boys’ cross country championship. Oak Hill junior Shallen Lenhart won her second straight Grant Four title.

For those honors, Neideck and Lenhart have been named this week’s Chronicle-Tribune Athletes of the Week.

Lenhart’s performance helped the Eagles win the girls’ team race with 23 points. Oak Hill defeated two-time defending champion Eastbrook, which finished with 40 points.

Following Lenhart, Brooke Hasty was third, Reagan Brankle was fourth, India Ulshafer was sixth, Elissa Austin was ninth and Cynthia Kluevein was 10th.

“It really means a lot to win the Grant Four championship as a team, it’s a big accomplishment,” Lenhart said. “Hopefully we can do well in the postseason also this year and hopefully make it to the semistate as a team.”

Lenhart followed up the Grant Four performance by taking second place individually during the small school race at the New Prairie Invitational on Saturday. Lenhart finished in 19:37. Teammate Brooke Hasty was 10th.

Those two top-10 finishes helped the Oak Hill girls win their first small-school race at New Prairie.
