XC Teams Win CIC Championships

The Oak Hill boys’ cross country team won the Central Indiana Conference meet for the 10th time in 12 years, while the girls’ team won its first title since 2010 on Wednesday at Blackford High School.

The Eagle boys placed six runners in the top 10 en route to winning with 28 points. Eastbrook was second with 58 points. Madison-Grant was fifth with 135 points and Mississinewa was sixth with 148 points.

The Eagle girls’ placed five in the top 10 to win with 27 points. Eastbrook was second with 44 points. Madison-Grant was sixth with 147 points and Mississinewa was seventh with 165 points.

The top 10 boys’ and girls’ finishers were named to the all-CIC team.

Eastbrook’s Josh Neideck won the boys’ race in 16:10. Oak Hill runners, however, occupied six of the next eight spots. Bradey Newhouse was second in 17:04.

Ryan Miller was fifth in 17:24. Riley Jones was sixth in 17:39. David Horner was seventh in 17:49. Chandler Julius was eighth in 17:55. Beau Clouser was ninth in 17:56.

Madison-Grant’s Aaron Patton also earned all-CIC honors, placing 10th in 18:04.

Eastbrook’s Brett Holder was 11th, Brad Burchell was 12th and Trevor Hix was 13th.

Joel Enochs was 18th for Mississinewa. Jalen Ruth was 22nd and Matt Sosh was 24th.

Oak Hill’s Shallen Lenhart won the girls’ race in 19:49. Teammate Brooke Hasty was second in 20:33. Reagan Brankle was fifth in 21:31. Elissa Austin was ninth in 22:06 and India Ulshafer was 10th in 22:19.

Cynthia Kluevein was 12th and Krista Hobbs was 13th.

Eastbrook’s Ellie Rodman was third in 20:50. Sierra Colvin was fourth in 21:12. Hannah Seward was sixth in 21:46.

Madison-Grant’s Tori Galloway was seventh in 21:47.

Blayne Miller was 26th for Mississinewa.
