Gerritt Taylor Named Chronicle-Tribune Player Of The Week

Sophomore Riley Feller helped the Mississinewa girls’ basketball team pick up its second straight victory. Senior Gerritt Taylor helped the Oak Hill boys’ basketball team get its second win in three games.

For those honors, Feller and Taylor have been named this week’s Chronicle-Tribune Athletes of the Week.

Taylor provided 29 points as Oak Hill defeated Peru 63-57 on Saturday. The win improved the Eagles to 2-7 and marked the second straight time Oak Hill won at Peru.

Taylor scored 12 points as the Eagles outscored the Tigers 20-10 in the second quarter to take a 29-15 lead into halftime.

Taylor’s 29 points came on 11-of-19 shooting from the field. He was 10-for-15 from two-point range. Taylor also was 6-for-9 from the foul line.

Along with his points, Taylor also had a team-high six steals. He also had three rebounds and one block Taylor now averages 13.7 points per game for the Eagles. He has scored in double figures in two straight and four of Oak Hill’s last five games.

The Eagles host Southwood tonight before traveling to Eastbrook on Friday.
