Girls Basketball Gets Road Win Vs. Jay County

The Class 2A No. 1 Oak Hill girls basketball team got off to a quick start, outscoring 3A No. 18 Jay County, 22-9 over the first eight minutes, and went on to claim a 51-40 win on the Patriots home floor Tuesday night.
Sophomore Taylor Westgate led the Golden Eagles with 17 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals while senior Kristin Dubois added nine points, four assists and four rebounds. 
Adrianna Trexler finished with eight points, three boards and two assists; Kaela Robey scored six points, four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. Auja Smith chipped in with five points and four boards while Jenessa Hasty, Andrea Wilk and Marissa Wilk scored two points each.
Jay County outscored Oak Hill 23-17 in the second and third quarters, but the Golden Eagles won the fourth quarter 12-8 to hold on for the win.
Oak Hill (4-0) travels to Madison-Grant on Friday.
