Girls’ Basketball Moves Past Southwood

Senior guard Shancy Larson had a team-high 16 points, five assists and four steals as the Oak Hill girls’ basketball team improved to 4-0 after a 49-27 victory over Southwood on Tuesday.

Southwood dropped to 0-3 with the loss.

Oak Hill outscored Southwood 15-8 in the opening quarter and 15-4 in the second quarter to take a 30-12 lead into halftime.

Tiffany Petro had nine points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Golden Eagles. Jessica Davenport had eight points, while Sammi Metzger had six points and was second on the team with three steals.

Southwood won the junior-varsity game 27-22. Abby Waggoner had eight points, while Hannah Bischoff had six points.

Oak Hill plays at Manchester in the first game of a girl/boy doubleheader at 6 p.m. Saturday.
