Girls Basketball Tops Bruins

Taylor Westgate led three players in double figures with 22 points Saturday and Class 2A second-ranked Oak Hill flexed its defensive mite once again to defeat Blackford 74-16 in Central Indiana Conference girls’ basketball play.

The Eagles limited Blackford to five points in the opening half and 12 percent field goal shooting (4-of-31). After one quarter they led 19-2 and extended it to 47-5 at halftime and 61-8 after three quarters.

Adrianna Trexler added 14 points, Marissa Wilk 10 points and Oak Hill shot 58 percent from the field (34-of-58). Trexler also had six rebounds.

Oak Hill (14-2) plays Wednesday at Class 3A top-ranked Northwestern, the defending state champions.
