Girls Swim At Greenfield; Tie Western

For what’s believed to be only the second time in Oak Hill swimming and diving team tied in a dual meet. The host Golden Eagles and Western each scored 93 points to end the meet in a draw.

It was a good night overall for Oak Hill, as Eagle swimmers recorded 17 time drops from the Greenfield-Central Invite on Saturday.

Sophomore Taylor King led the Eagles with two individual wins along with swimming on two winning relay teams. King won both the 50 freestyle (25.54) and 100 Butterfly (1:02.00).

King teamed with Emma Bledsoe, Grace Marsh and Ashtin McDivitt to win the 200 free relay in 1:51.44. King, McDivitt, Mallory Cheek and Kaylie Gunion combined to win the 400 free relay in 4:11.36.

McDivitt added a third win to her night by capturing the 500 freestyle (6:10.97) and also finished second in the 200 free.

Hayleigh Elliott won the diving competition with a score of 216.35.

In Saturday’s Turkey Breast Invite in Greenfield, the Golden Eagles scored 114 points and finished second to Greenfield-Central (195). Indianapolis Chatard (67) was third, Eastern Hancock (31) was fourth and Indian Creek (14) was fifth.

King won the 50 free (25.82) and was second in the 100 butterfly; Bledsoe finished second in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke; Elliott was runner-up in diving; McDivitt finished third in the 200 free; Gunion was third in the 500 free; and Judy Wood finished third in the 100 backstroke
