Swimmers And Divers Fly Past Wabash

Boys’ swimming

V: Oak Hill 142, Wabash 30

Cole Maynard had two first-place swims Tuesday and the Golden Eagles won 11 of 12 events to defeat the Apaches.

Maynard captured the 200-yard freestyle in 2:07.64 and the 500 freestyle in 5:55.07.

Other individual winners were Liam Hite in the 200 individual medley (2:40.88); Collin Brown in the 50 freestyle (23.62 seconds); Jacobey Jones in 1-meter diving (283.15 points); Austin Daugherty in the 100 butterfly (1:02.80); Drew Hobbs in the 100 backstroke (1:12.88), and Ryan Miller in the 100 breaststroke (1:16.07).

Johnny Ozmun and Kegan Anderson each swam on two winning relay teams.

Oak Hill (4-0) competes Saturday in the Hamilton Southeastern Invitational.

Girls’ swimming

V: Oak Hill 130, Wabash 30

The Golden Eagles won all 12 events Tuesday to defeat the Apaches, including two individual firsts from freshman Hailee Scheffer and Christine Harper.

Scheffer won in the 200-yard freestyle (2:30.41) and the 500 freestyle (6:22.71). Harper’s wins were in the 50 freestyle (:28.35) and 100 backstroke (1:16.29).

Oak Hill also had firsts from Mallory Bundrick in the 200 individual medley (2:45.69); Kendra Holcom in diving (238.20); Allie Conway in the 100 butterfly (1:16.11); Michelle Miller in the 100 freestyle (1:08.59), and Ashley Palicki in the 100 breaststroke (1:26.36).

Melissa Ford, Samantha Mauk and Kendall Drook were on three winning relay teams.

Oak Hill (6-1) competes Saturday in the Hamilton Southeastern Invitational.
