Wrestling Finish Fifth At IHSWCA State Duals

The Oak Hill wrestling team went 3-1 overall to take fifth place in Class A during the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association team state duals on Saturday at the Fort Wayne Coliseum.
Oak Hill opened the tournament with a 51-18 victory over Attica.
J.C. Herring, Luke Leckron, Blaney Harrison, Noah King, Stewart Mossholder and Owen Perkins all won their matches by pin. Mason Hehe won his match by forfeit. Cole Ridgeway, Travis Davenport and Zach Gunter all won their matches by decision.
The Eagles then fell to Monrovia 31-30 in its final pool-play match. Gunter and Luke Buckler won their matches by pin. Davenport, Harrison, King and Perkins won their matches by decision. Max Stefanatos won his match by forfeit.
Oak Hill rebounded from that loss to beat Delphi 60-15. Davenport, Gunter, Buckler, Leckron, Brody Hardcastle, Harrison and Hehe won their matches by pin. Harrison and Mossholder won their matches by decision. Herring and Stefanatos won by forfeit.
Oak Hill then beat Knightstown 46-24 to place fifth. Herring, Davenport, Hardcastle, King, Mossholder and Perkins all won by fall. Harrison won by a major decision. Gunter and Leckron won by decision.
Oak Hill wrestles Tuesday at Northfield.
